The eyes, ears and voice of Retailers, Washington Retail Association, Recommend Peter Dunbar for State Representative
Bellevue – Support for Peter Dunbar’s campaign for State Representative in the 41st Legislative District grew today on news that the Washington Retail Association was endorsing Dunbar’s candidacy. The Washington Retail Association helps to fuel statewide economic growth by representing 2,800 storefronts in the state.
“Washingtonians are starting to see that Olympia’s current economic policies – particularly those geared towards small businesses – are not working. The way to get us out of this recession is not to throw together a mismatched and poorly thought-out collection of taxes that will end up hurting Washington’s small businesses rather than helping them.”
Other business-minded organizations – such as the National Federation of Independent Business and the Association of Washington Business – have endorsed Peter Dunbar’s candidacy, cementing his reputation as a candidate who knows how best to ensure Washington’s future economic success.
“The Washington Retail Association enthusiastically endorses Peter Dunbar to be the next state representative from the 41st Legislative District. Peter has the right mix of skills to go to Olympia and address our state’s spending problems without negatively impacting the retail industry. We believe Peter will help cultivate a positive business environment for retailers to recover and thrive. The voters of the 41st District would do well to support Peter Dunbar for State Representative,” Jan Teague, President/CEO of WRA.
“As a small business owner myself, I can bring to Olympia the experience necessary to create jobs, which will be key to Washington’s economic recovery. Small businesses are the cornerstone of our economy, and the current attitudes that Olympia has towards business cannot continue if we’re to make it out of this crisis.”
Peter is co-founder of Talaria, Inc., a Seattle-based company that specializes in e-learning programs for healthcare professionals. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Washington Medical School and is an anesthesiologist at Harborview Medical Center.

Washington State’s Premier Advocate for the Business Community, AWB, Recommend Peter Dunbar for State Representative
Bellevue – Peter Dunbar added another endorsement to his already impressive list of supporters in his campaign for State Representative in the 41st Legislative District. The Association of Washington Business announced yesterday that it would endorse Dunbar’s candidacy, saying in an announcement that, “The AWB Board of Directors feels it is important to elect candidates, like Peter Dunbar, who understand that a strong private sector is important for the health of Washington State.”
“I’m a small business owner with the experience we need to get Washington back on track. Olympia has been spending out of control for far too long, and it must stop if we are going to maintain the economic vitality that has attracted some of the world’s most successful companies. An inefficient and cumbersome tax policy is not the answer to our problems, yet that is exactly what Olympia has seen fit to implement.”
Peter’s small business experience has resonated with 41st District voters. “I hear all the time that people are fed up with the status quo from Olympia and that new energy and a different skill set are what we need. I have both energy and a skill set geared towards job creation and economic growth, which I will use to get Washington out of this economic situation and back on the road toward a national and global economic presence.”
“Voters I’ve talked to want to see a government down in Olympia that will wisely and effectively spend their hard-earned tax dollars. As a Scotsman, I understand this concern very well and I intend to bring a frugal fiscal attitude with me down to Olympia.”

Leading Small Business Advocates NFIB Recommend Peter Dunbar for State Representative
Bellevue – The National Federation of Independent Business announced its recommendation of Peter Dunbar for State Representative in the race for Legislative District 41. Citing his opponent’s dismal voting record on job creating legislation, the association stated, “Peter Dunbar has real-world experience creating jobs and working to build successful enterprises. He is a stark contrast to the incumbent whose votes destroyed jobs in our state. With Dunbar’s leadership we can rebuild our economy and get Washington back to work.”
“I know what it’s like to sign the front of a paycheck. I have a lot of respect for Washington’s small and large businesses. It is hard work and takes a lot of personal sacrifice, innovation, creativity and even a bit of luck. I look forward to doing what I can to support a business climate in Washington that attracts – not deters – new jobs from staying and locating here.”
Dunbar continued, “Olympia has not done enough to encourage long-term economic growth in our state. We need people familiar with what it takes to make a business grow and thrive to help us get Washington back to work.”
Dunbar is co-founder of Talaria, Inc., a Seattle-based company that specializes in e-learning programs for healthcare professionals. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Washington Medical School and is an anesthesiologist at Harborview Medical Center. Dunbar is challenging Marcie Maxwell – D for the 41st House District.
